DIY Rustic Pears – Easy Fall Light Bulb Craft

by Alli

DIY Rustic Pears are the perfect craft for fall. Make these pears while watching TV. They are that easy to make.

Last week I shared an easy DIY canning lid pumpkin and this week’s craft project is just as easy. Seems like I’m on a fall fruit kick with the pumpkins and pears!

Remember these light bulbs? This is the shape you’ll need to make these rustic pears.

Light Bulb Pear

I was changing light bulbs in my lamps and kept the old ones to make this project. Why do I need light bulbs?  To make DIY rustic pears, of course.

I think these rustic pears are the cutest things ever.

What You Will Need To Make DIY Rustic Pears

  • 3 light bulbs (the pear-shaped kind)
  • Twine
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Twigs (from the yard)

Rustic Pears from Light Bulbs

Start at the small end of the light bulb and wind the twine around, adding dots of glue as you go to hold the twine in place. Then add a twig to the top with a drop of hot glue and you are done!

I did get a little glue happy at times and some of the glue tried to peak out around the twine. You don’t need a lot, just a little dot here and there.

When you get halfway through, flip the light bulb over. It makes it easier to work with. Once you’re done with the pears, pull off any glue that is visible.

I think I’m going to incorporate these pears into my Thanksgiving centerpiece.

Special Note:  Please keep the DIY rustic pears away from children. The bulbs are breakable.
