April showers bring May flowers . . . Â and pollen and allergy season. Â Since May is National Asthma and Allergy month, here’s 5 Ways to Reduce Allergens in Your Home.
1. Â Close the windows
I always have the urge to welcome spring with open arms and open windows. Â I learned years ago to resist the urge to open the windows and let the pollen in. Â It will settle on everything!
2. Â Air Filters
Remember to change your air filter every 3 months and use a HEPA filter.

Animals can carry allergens on their fur and skin. Â Keep your pet clean and brushed to help minimize allergens.

Live plants help keep the air clean. Â Remember to water regularly and keep those plants clean, too.

The Mayo Clinic recommends getting rid of all carpeting and replacing it with hard surfaces to ensure healthier air quality.
