Easy Family Dinner Ideas for the Holidays

It’s December.  I have guests coming for Christmas and I’m in the middle of not one, but two bathroom renovations.  I’m talking all the way down to the studs reno. What was I thinking?

The holidays can be hectic! It's a good thing I have STOUFFER'S® Lasagna in the freezer! I start off dinner with an antipasto platter. A salad and garlic bread completes my dinner.

Bathroom Renovation in December!

The contractor has promised that both bathrooms will be completed before Christmas. My fingers are crossed and my dining room is overflowing with stacks of tile, paint, and every fixture known to mankind.  Who knew so much was required for such a small space?

My family and I live in an older home that we’ve been remodeling forever.  Does it ever stop?  I don’t think so.  I’ve often heard that reno projects cost more than the initial quote and the project takes longer than the contractor said it would. I can attest that both of these things are true.

Between the renovation project, Christmas shopping (I’m so far behind) and getting the house ready for Christmas guests, dinner preparation can sometimes get lost in the shuffle.  That’s why I try to always have a backup plan for easy family dinner ideas.

Head to Walmart!

When I’m shopping at Walmart, I always stop by the freezer aisle for easy family dinner ideas.  STOUFFER’S® Family Sized Entreés, Lasagna with Meat Sauce is a family favorite. I usually add garlic bread and a salad in a bag and dinner is done.

Antipasto Platter

While the lasagna is baking, I like to serve an antipasto platter while the family catches up on each other’s day. This is the easiest platter to put together and it gives me time to spend with the family instead of time in the kitchen.

I love Stouffer’s lasagna! They are usually my go to for New Year’s Eve dinner. And the meat and cheese look great too.

I now got a new idea to serve lasagna with a platter like this. This is a great busy day meal. And like you, I am so far behind. I don’t have a remodle going on but with little kids, nothing gets done!

My kids love lasagna! If they could eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner then they would! We always keep a couple of them on hand for busy nights filled with school and sports activities.

Family dinners should not be expensive. We all just need to be creative. Thanks for sharing this post.

Wow, 2 bathroom renos is a lot on its own. Add in Christmas and that is just nuts. But the lasagna is a great thing to have around.

The lasagna looks really tasty. You also complemented the lasagna too with proper ingredients. It’s easy to prepare this too with Stouffer’s.

I am a HUGE Lasagna lover but don’t eat it often because it takes so long to prepare. That’s why I STOUFFER’S® Lasagna with Meat Sauce! It’s easy to cook and super yummy <3
