Because I want to help spread the word about testicular cancer, I’m going completely off base from my normal party, food and lifestyle posts. I admit that I almost didn’t rise to the occasion. I blushed. I ignored the email asking me to get this message out and I blushed again before accepting the challenge to share 4 facts about testicular cancer.
If this post serves as a wakeup call for just one man, it will be worth me feeling like a little schoolgirl hearing about private parts for the very first time. I jumped on board when I discovered that Testicular Cancer has a 99% survival rate with early detection.
Listen up, women! You know as well as I do that most men are hardheaded when it comes to seeing a doctor. Sometimes it’s up to us to point them in the right direction. That’s another reason I’m sharing facts about testicular cancer.
Did you know These 4 Facts about Testicular Cancer?
- One male is diagnosed with testicular cancer every hour
- It is the most easily detected form of cancer
- It has a 99% survival rate when caught early
- It’s the most common cancer in males ages 15-35
When you check out  testicularcancer.org, you can learn all the facts and get educated on how the man in your life should do a simple, 3-step self exam in the shower once a month. You can also find support and donate online.
Throughout the month of April, there’s a giveaway of one $25 Tommy John underwear credit each week  to represent the 24 men who are diagnosed every day + the one life lost each day from this disease.
To enter, you must share one of the testicular cancer images above on Instagram using #KnowYourBalls and tag someone who could benefit from the knowledge. Follow @TommyJohnWear and @TesticularCancerFoundation for a chance to win a $25 credit for some Tommy John underwear.
Please share this info with the men and boys in your life and help spread the word about early detection and a 99% survival rate. Together, we can make a difference.

This is a super important subject. It is one of those things that men don’t like to talk about, but it’s a very real threat.
Those numbers are amazing! 99% Survival rate!! Wow! Most common cancer in Ages 15-35! I’m glad you shared. I did not know and my life is surrounded by men with my hubby, 2 sons-in-law, and 6 grandsons. We need to be informed.
Testicular cancer is something we definitely need to talk about more, it seems like men just sort of ignore its existences to some extent. x
It is very interesting for the ages for the men mentioned. I have a very good friend that worked out at the gym daily, ate the right foods (no junk food) and was diagnosed with the prostate cancer at age 62. a total shocker. He is 1 of the lucky ones who has survived it.
I once read that the wife can be the first to notice differences (as a husband can often notice his wife’s breast lump). ?
This is a super important subject. I believe many man don’t even think about this because it’s not a subject raised very often.
This is an awesome post. I hope that men make sure to do self-exams. Catching it early is very important!
Wow this is interesting. I had no idea anything about this. I will have to share, especially with my husband and male friends. Great to know.
This is a great post! It’s definitely important for the guys to be aware
That is so scary how many men get this but I am glad that if caught early it can be fought. Thanks for all this information.
Thanks so much for sharing about this subject!
Thank you for sharing this post. I know it has been a while since my husband had a check up. I will share this information with him.
I also need to take the time and schedule my well woman too. Self care for both men and women is important.
I didn’t know any of these facts…gasp. I need to get more informed on so many health issues. I guess that is a part of “adulting”. 🙂
This is a really helpful info graphic. Men would really be more aware and conscious of testicular cancer. This can help detect and cure it earlier.
Yes, men are stubborn when it comes to the doctor. I know my husband is. I will show him his post so he can make an appointment soon.
This really is solid information! My hubby just had another skin cancer surgery, and, while the two aren’t related at all, you can bet I keep an eye on him for all kinds of cancer now. Scary stuff!
It is so important that the word keeps getting spread about testicular cancer and that men take the precautionary steps that they need to. I had no idea the survival rate was so high, that is great!
This is such an important topic and yes I believe it is up to us women to make sure our husband’s check and keep their annual appointments. I know two men who are testicular cancer survivors.
I think this i succh a great post because it creates awareness about testicular Cancer to which our men are prone to.
I think it is very nice of you to spread the word and share this important message
That early detection rate is key. There is no excuse not to talk about it or spread the word when we know that raising awareness has a 99% chance of helpings someone we know. (Though I totally would have blushed and hesitated myself!)
