Avoid the Oops at Family Gatherings

by Alli

This is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks/Walmart. All opinions are mine alone. #AvoidTheOops

The entire family recently gathered at my house to celebrate Father’s Day. My grown kids took total control of my kitchen. The oldest child insisted on manning the grill outside. The middle child commandeered my double ovens. The youngest insisted on doing all the cleanup. I may never find my pots and pans again.

They look totally innocent, don’t they?

the grown kids before destroying my kitchen

Being the type-A personality that I am, it was hard to sit back and watch them destroy take over my kitchen. When my youngest daughter opened the fridge, the creamer fell out (all by itself – uh-huh). The top opened as it hit the floor and creamer splashed on the fridge, the floor and the kitchen cabinets. I do believe it all happened in slow motion.

As I tried to regulate my breathing, I screamed, “grab a paper towel.” Of course, we were out. As I calmed down, I vowed to avoid the oops by never giving out of paper towels again.

Never run out of paper towels again - avoid the oops!

My life’s mantra is, “You can never have too many paper towels.” Since I’ve been battling a herniated disc (ouch), running to the store is not my idea of a fun day. So, I immediately headed over to www.avoidtheoops.com to order everyday essentials like paper towels and cleaning supplies.

Walmart.com helps avoid the oops

I only have one question. Why have I not been ordering my cleaning supplies from Walmart.com?

You, too, can “avoid the oops” by shopping for the same great household essentials at Walmart’s everyday low prices on Walmart.com. It’s so easy! I don’t have to spend time loading and unloading the trunk because the cleaning supplies are delivered right to my door.

Don’t ask me about the time I ran out of Tide pods and had to use dishwashing liquid. Yes, I did.

Avoid the Oops

The next time the kids take over the kitchen, I’ll be ready and waiting to avoid the oops by having plenty of paper towels on hand. That way, I can sit back, relax and let the kids do all the work.

Avoid the Oops by ordering your cleaning supplies from Walmart.com.

Do you have a kitchen “oops” moment you’d like to share?

I agree you can never have too many paper towels, especially when my teen daughters are cooking. How do you get gravy on the phone? I don’t know, but they can do it.

I agree that you can never have too many paper towels. Between the pets, the kids, and the grandkids, it feels like there is always someone making or cleaning up a mess.

With 3 kids 10, 9 and 8, we make lots of messes. We go through paper towels like crazy. My kids tend to believe the commercials and they can clean a massive spill with one paper towel. I tell them they need to make a Nini mitt, my MIL wraps paper towels around her hand about 7 times to clean a mess. You can never have too many paper towels!

Have three pets in the house and kids. I swear we go through more paper towels than anything. There is always an oops in our house.

It’s so important to keep the house well-stocked for guests at family gatherings. We always have some Bounty on hand. It’s so absorbent!

Looks like you are all set for the next gathering. Way beyond prepared, I usually forget paper towels 😉

Sometimes with such a big family avoiding the oops is hard! Being prepared is the only way to go! I’ve never tried the tide pods before though, I need to stock up!

Oh, boy.. I am right there with you on the hot seat when I let someone else take charge. I actually keep two rolls of Bounty paper towels in my kitchen (one for each side). I like having them close at hand. 😉

I need to stock up, for sure! We are usually always running low on everything, it seems. I love shopping with Walmart.com as well. It is so convenient.

Alli, this is so funny, it’s my OCD thing, not only do we use Bounty paper towels but I wrap Stacy’s lunch sandwich in one before I put it in his ziploc bag every day. I have to be certain the word “Bounty” is facing me, not upside down. I can’t believe I shared that. LoL
My grandson dropped about a thousand red hot candies on my kitchen floor a few days ago. That was more of a vacuum cleaner incident though.
We LOVE having family over, no matter what happens, don’t we 🙂

Yes, we do love having the family here! I also use Bounty napkins. I can’t use any other brand. 🙂 I love that you shared about the Bounty facing you.

Paper towels are a must-have in my home and so I whenever there’s a discount on them I buy some because I don’t want to rum out of them.

LOL – but they mean well! 😉 I like to be prepared when anybody steps foot into my kitchen…be it the kids or the husband. I’ve browsed Walmart.com, but never actually placed an order (since the store is so close).

It is so important to stock up on these important items especially when family is visiting. I don’t have oops kitchen horror stories. Paper towels and the Magic Erasers are the two many things I worry about running out of during visits from the family. Thanks for sharing the information.

One thing I absolutely can’t be without is paper towels. You really notice how necessary they are when you don’t have them. I realized I use them for everything! It’s good to keep extra stock of staples on hand.

There are sooooo many “oops” in the kitchen stories, its not even funny! But I guess thats normal when you’ve got 2 very “helpful” young boys in the house!
