As a brand ambassador for Oriental Trading, I have received products or compensation for my White Candy Buffet. All opinions are my own.Â
The new year is upon us and it’s almost time to reflect on the old and ring in the new. Are you happy to say farewell to 2016?
I tend to look at a new year as a clean slate or a blank sheet of paper. It’s time to revisit old goals, make new ones and start afresh. Need a do-over? The time is now.
Let’s Celebrate
For my New Year’s Eve Party, I decided to create a white candy buffet. Of course, I need white candy for the buffet and Oriental Trading has everything I need for my party. From candy to hats to balloons, they have you covered for New Year’s Eve.
White Candy Buffet
I’ve always wanted an excuse to purchase a white faux fur table runner. A white candy buffet is perfect for a faux fur runner.
Helpful Hint: I couldn’t find the faux fur runner I envisioned in my head. My nearest fabric store has just what I need and it’s on sale. Score!
Once the faux fur is in place, gather enough clear glass serving containers to hold your assortment of candy. If you don’t have enough, Oriental Trading has all kinds of glass containers.
Remember to vary the heights of your glass containers and place tall containers in the back.
How easy was that?
Helpful Hint: Don’t forget to include scoops for your candy bar.
Auld Lang Syne
Headed to a New Year’s Eve party? Â I’m sure you’ll be singing Auld Lang Syne right before the clock strikes midnight. Auld Lang Syne was originally a Scottish poem by Robert Burns. Â Later, music was added. The rest is history.
Should old acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind
Should all acquaintance be forgot
And auld lang syne
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet,
For auld lang syne
And surely you will buy your cup
And surely I’ll buy mine
And we’ll take a cup o’kindness yet
For auld lang syne
We too have run around the slopes
And picked the daisies fine
We’ve londoned many weary foot
Since auld lang syne
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet,
For auld lang syne
We too have paddled in the stream
From morning sun to night
But the seas between us broad have roared
From auld lang syne
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet,
For auld lang syne
We’ll take a cup o’kindness yet
For auld langs syne Â
