DIY Rustic Pears – Easy Fall Light Bulb Craft

by Alli

DIY Rustic Pears are the perfect craft for fall. Make these pears while watching TV. They are that easy to make.

Last week I shared an easy DIY canning lid pumpkin and this week’s craft project is just as easy. Seems like I’m on a fall fruit kick with the pumpkins and pears!

Remember these light bulbs? This is the shape you’ll need to make these rustic pears.

Light Bulb Pear

I was changing light bulbs in my lamps and kept the old ones to make this project. Why do I need light bulbs?  To make DIY rustic pears, of course.

I think these rustic pears are the cutest things ever.

What You Will Need To Make DIY Rustic Pears

  • 3 light bulbs (the pear-shaped kind)
  • Twine
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Twigs (from the yard)

Rustic Pears from Light Bulbs

Start at the small end of the light bulb and wind the twine around, adding dots of glue as you go to hold the twine in place. Then add a twig to the top with a drop of hot glue and you are done!

I did get a little glue happy at times and some of the glue tried to peak out around the twine. You don’t need a lot, just a little dot here and there.

When you get halfway through, flip the light bulb over. It makes it easier to work with. Once you’re done with the pears, pull off any glue that is visible.

DIY Rustic Pear

I think I’m going to incorporate these pears into my Thanksgiving centerpiece.

Special Note:  Please keep the DIY rustic pears away from children. The bulbs are breakable.

Rustic Pears Made From Lightbulbs

These pears are really cute and a bowl full of them will make the coolest rustic centerpiece. How do you decorate for fall?

This makes me feel like I don’t have a creative bone in my body LOL I am just IN LOVE with this idea. It’ll probably tale me a few broken light bulbs before they look like yours though 😉

Alli! These are amazing. I think they would be perfect as table place cards (well with a card added of course 😉 ) . I wonder if there’s something I can sub in since I probably can’t find these kinds of bulbs here (only ugly florescent! )

These really are just adorable! I am all about Repurposing so I’m happy to find another repurposing idea for the old fashioned light bulb!
Pinning this!
I am very ready to decorate for fall but we still have a few weeks of remodeling to get through first. I may go ahead and get started where I can because Fall is my absolute favorite time of year!

What a great way to upcycle old light bulbs. When I first saw these pears, I wondered what you used for the base. This is so clever!
