I’m counting down the days to Cinco de Mayo and planning my menu for the big celebration! I’ll have a taco bar, of course, but I want to add a little twist by making Lobster Tacos With Lime-Cilantro Coleslaw.
To get a head-start on the festivities, I decided to make Lobster Tacos with Lime-Cilantro Coleslaw this past weekend and I found all the ingredients at Publix, including avocados from Mexico.
Avocados, a delicious super-food, are at the top of my favorite fruits list. You can dice it, slice it, smash it or serve it whole.
I like to add sliced avocados to my salads and sandwiches. I’ve been known to grab an avocado, slice it down the middle and eat it with a spoon.
I’ll never forget the time when my husband and I were in Cabo, eating at an adorable little restaurant. I ordered guacamole and the owner sent his young son across the street to a small market to buy fresh avocados. I do believe it was the freshest, best-tasting guac I’ve ever eaten and another beautiful food memory was born.
Ingredients For Lobster Tacos (printable recipe down below!)
- Old El Paso Taco Dinner Kit, soft and hard tacos
- Langostino Lobster Tails, (16 oz) thawed
- butter
- garlic powder
- fresh lime juice
- Taco Seasoning Packet from dinner kit
- shredded Mexican cheese
Ingredients For Lime Cilantro Coleslaw
- coleslaw mix (16 oz)
- chopped spring onions
- cilantro, rough chopped
- sour cream
- mayonnaise
- 1 tsp. sugar substitute
- Old El Paso chopped green chilis (4.5 oz), drained
- juice from 2 limes
- salt & pepper to taste
In order to make my lobster tacos quickly and easily, I save time by buying frozen Langostino lobster tails that have already been peeled, chopped, and cooked.
I always mix up the coleslaw first and let it hang out in the fridge while I’m heating the lobster, etc.
After the coleslaw is mixed, the crunchy and soft tacos go in the oven for 4-5 minutes while the lobster is heated in a skillet.
Crunchy or Soft Tacos?
Do you like crunchy or soft tacos? We’re a house divided, so I always buy Old El Paso Taco Dinner value pack kits. It includes crunchy corn tacos, soft tortillas, salsa, and taco seasoning mix.
I found the cutest taco trucks at World Market to add to my taco buffet. There are 2 in a box and come in orange and lime green. I don’t think they have these any longer but I found some cute ones at Amazon. As an affiliate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
I do hope you try my Lobster Tacos with Lime-Cilantro Coleslaw! My family has requested that they be added to the weekly rotation of menus. That means they’re off-the-chain good!
Lobster Tacos and Lime Cilantro Coleslaw
Lobster Tacos are so easy to make. I start with thawed lobster tails. The lime-cilantro coleslaw adds flavor and a nice crunch.

Lime Cilantro Coleslaw
- 1 package coleslaw mix, 16 oz.

- 1/2 cup cilantro, rough chopped
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tsp. sugar substitute
- 1 can Old El Paso chopped green chilis (4.5 oz), drained
- Juice from 2 limes
- salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- To make the coleslaw: Combine the coleslaw mix, onions & cilantro in a large bowl.
- Mix sour cream, mayonnaise, sugar substitute, green chilis, lime juice, salt & pepper and pour over coleslaw mixture. Toss lightly to mix. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

You’re speaking to my heart! I need lobster and avocado in my life asap! I just have to find lobster that doesn’t cost a million dollars – also I’ll probably make these and NOT share haha.
I love both hard and soft tacos, but I’m usually trying to be good and I go for the whole wheat tortilla.
That sounds like something that every seafood lover would LOVE! What a neat idea for a taco, too. You are very creative.
I like soft tacos the best.
I love hard shell tacos the best. I can’t wait to try this recipe, I love it with the slaw too
Those look absolutely fantastic! I love to cook with seafood! Living in Georgia has me close enough to the gulf for some really great seafood.
I would definitely prefer soft tacos. I have never been a fan of hard shells.
Mouth watering! These look amazing. My husband would be all over them because of the lobster. I’m excited about the lime! So tasty!
I’d say I actually like hard and soft shells equally for tacos. It depends on what type of taco. If it’s something like shrimp or salmon in the taco, I guess I prefer soft. Ground beef tacos I like in hard shells, but steak tacos are better in soft.
Ooh my son would love spicy lobster tacos. I have to pick up some of those frozen lobster tails at some point.
I like hard tacos. Thank you for the giveaway!

I prefer soft tacos vs. hard. And, I’m definitely going to try these. I’ve only had fish tacos (soft) once at a restaurant and I loved them. Why I never thought about trying it at home, I have no idea! I’ll be trying your recipe soon!
Oh yum! I love lime cilantro anything. And lobster but hardly eat it because it can be pricey.

I love the soft shells!
I am not a big seafood fan aside from shrimp. I have tried a shrimp taco and was not happy lol. But this actually sounds really good. I have to try it sometime.
I don’t like seafood that tastes “fishy.” Lobster is light and delicate and rich! Yum!
