How to Stay Up To Date on Car Seat Safety

My 5th grandchild is scheduled to arrive in December. This will be the first child for my son and daughter-in-law. What a great Christmas gift! We don’t have any December babies, so we’re really excited.

We already know it’s a boy. When Finley arrives, I will have five grandsons. That’s right – five boys! I have my fingers crossed for a girl eventually, but I now have lots of practice being Nana to all boys. So this will be a piece of cake. I think.

My youngest grandson is five, so it’s been awhile since I’ve had an infant car seat in my car. Since safety rules are always being improved upon, it’s time for me to update my knowledge on car seats. Good thing Cars.com has everything I need to know about car seat safety.

Whether you’re buying a new car or need to know how to correctly install a car seat in a car you already own, Cars.com has all the info you need. You can find out which cars received all A’s in their car seat safety check.

Back in the day, when my children were babies, our cars didn’t have a Latch System. A Latch System means Lower Anchor and Tethers for Children and is supposed to make it easier to correctly install car seats. Sometimes these latches are hidden and require you to dig deep into the seat cushion to find them. I had to dig pretty deep to find the latch in my car!

It’s sad that not all cars are car seat friendly. At Cars.com, you can enter your car’s make and model and find out if your car received all A’s! If you’re in the market for a new car, find out which cars are the most car seat friendly!

When my grandkids are riding in the car, I want them to be as safe as possible. Now that I know how to properly install the car seat, I’m good to go!

Does your car receive all A’s? I’m relieved to know that mine does!
