It’s grilling season – my favorite season of all! I love summer because we get to spend more time outdoors in the fresh air and of course, grilling. Easy Grilled Pineapple Pork Kabobs will be on my grilling menu a lot this summer because they are so flavorful and easy to cook.

Sometimes we tend to forget about how simple, versatile and flavorful fresh pork is when it comes to grilling. Whether I’m grilling ribs or pork tenderloin to make kabobs, Walmart has a variety of high quality marinated fresh pork, ribs, and chops.

Fresh Pork at Walmart

My easy, grilled Pineapple Pork Kabobs requires only five ingredients and you can find them all at your local Walmart.

Easy Grilled Pineapple Pork Kabobs

I cook pork kabobs on the grill frequently, so I have a set of stainless steel skewers. You can also use wooden skewers. If you use wooden, make sure to soak them 20-30 minutes before threading. It will keep the skewers from burning while on the grill.

Pineapple Kabobs are ready to serve

For this recipe, I use two bell peppers, a red onion, a fresh pineapple,  a Smithfield® Garlic & Herb Pork Loin Filet, and pineapple preserves.

Ingredients - Pork Kabobs

I love Smithfield® brand because it’s already marinated and that’s one less step for me. Feel free to purchase your favorite brand

Smithfield Fresh Pork for Kabobs

To make kabobs, cut the peppers, onion, pineapple and fresh pork into 1-inch cubes. Toss the peppers, onion, and pineapple in two tablespoons olive oil.

Thread a chunk of pepper, pineapple, pork, and onion. Repeat until you’ve used four pieces of pork per skewer.

Place vegetables and pork on skewers

Grill on medium-high for about 10 minutes – 5 minutes per side. When you cube fresh pork, it doesn’t take as long to cook so these kabobs are cooked in under 15 minutes.

Grilling Kabobs

Brush the kabobs with pineapple preserves a couple of minutes before they are done. If the preserves are too thick to brush, place in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for about 15-20 seconds.

Helpful Hint: For this recipe, I used orange bell peppers. You could also use green or red.

How to Cut a Fresh Pineapple

When buying a fresh pineapple, pay attention to the sound and smell. It shouldn’t smell sickly sweet or have a hollow sound.

Use a sharp knife to trim off the top. Cut off the sides and remove the eyes. Cut straight down the center and then remove the core. For this recipe, cut pineapple into 1″ cubes.

Cooking Times for Grilling Fresh Pork

When it comes to grilling fresh marinaded pork, it’s best when cooked to 145ºF. I always use an instant-read thermometer to make sure the pork is cooked perfectly.

I also let the pork rest for at least 3 minutes before serving. That way, the juices redistribute and ensures that the meat is juicy and tasty. The internal temperature will rise a little while it rests.

We like our pork loin to be medium-well (155-160º F). If you like your pork medium, cook it to 150-155ºF. Well done is an internal temperature of 160º and medium-rare is 145-150.

These grilled kabobs are a family favorite. They are tender, flavorful and colorful. I serve these with Rosemary Garlic Potatoes or a baked sweet potato to round out the meal. You could also serve these kabobs over rice.

I love kebabs anyway you can give them to me. I love to grill them and they’re so easy to make. We always make more than what we need so we have leftovers for later. This one looks amazing and I will definitely try it

This is such a great way to cook the pork loin. I have not made kabobs yet this year but the pineapple looks like a good way to sweeten it up.
