It’s Force Friday – Free Lightsaber day!

My grandsons are huge Star Wars Fans and I was over-the-moon excited when I saw that Costume Express was offering a free lightsaber with any purchase – TODAY only!  They love playing dress-up and I do believe that one of them has dressed as a Star Wars character on Halloween for the last three or four years.

Unfortunately, this offer has now expired! But don’t be sad. We can still celebrate the force.

Force Friday Party Ideas

I like to think that the force is always with us. With that in mind, let’s take a look at what you need for a Star Wars Party.

Easy Star Wars Party Food Ideas

You must have Star Wars related food for your party. What about some “space candy” aka rock candy?

If you don’t like to bake, buy some premade cupcakes and top them with this lightsaber cupcake picks.  Or make one of my delicious cupcake recipes.

You can also make Wookie Cookies and delicious Yoda Punch.

DIY Lightsabers

If you don’t want to splurge on lightsabers, make your own with pool noodles and duct tape.

• Cut pool noodles in half.
• Cover the end of the noodle (about a quarter of the noodle) with silver duct tape.
• Use black electrical tape to add a design and to make them look like the real deal.

This could actually be the craft portion of your party. Let each child make his or her lightsaber and take it home after the party.

From balloons to take home favors and everything in between, you can decorate as much or as little as you want.
