Oreo Owl Cupcakes & Jack O’Lantern Juice are both easy recipes that are perfect for your Halloween party. The kids will love to help make the cupcakes.

You will only need two ingredients to make these adorable cupcakes. They are so good and made the cut in my best cupcake recipes.

Have you made plans for Halloween yet? I always look forward to our church’s Trunk or Treat party.

Just in case you’ve never participated in a Trunk or Treat, it’s where all participants park their cars side-by-side, decorate their trunks, and hand out treats as the kids walk from one trunk to the next.

I can’t tell you what my trunk is going to be yet because it’s a surprise. But I will be wearing a costume.

How To Make Not-So-Spooky Faces

The first time I made these Not-So-Spooky faces, I used black construction paper and glue. Since that time, I’ve come up with a better solution.

Cut out eyes, a nose, and a mouth from black duct tape. Stick the cutouts to a glass. The tape cutouts will last throughout your party but are easy to remove before washing the glasses.

Make sure you remove the tape before placing the glasses in a dishwasher!

My Orange & Black OREO Owl Cupcakes are just as easy to make. There are only 2 ingredients in the cupcake batter – a cake mix and 12 oz. of Fanta Orange Soda. That’s it.

  •  white cake mix
  • 12 oz. Fanta Orange Soda
  • OREOS
  • Candies, for decorating (I use brown and orange M&M’s. For the beak, turn an orange M&M on its side)

Chocolate Ganache:

  • 8 oz. chopped semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

How To Make OREO Owl Cupcakes

Add the Fanta Orange Soda to the cake mix.

  4. Pour the cream over the chocolate (in a bowl) and stir until melted and well combined.
  5. If you want the ganache to have a frosting consistency, let the chocolate ganache cool completely, place in a mixing bowl. Use the whisk attachment and whisk until light and pale.

This is such a cute and festive idea for Halloween! We have always loved Fanta in our house, so this may just be something we have to try before Halloween! 🙂

These recipes sound so great for a spooky (but not scary) Halloween party. My boys and I love oreos so we would probably devour all of the cupcakes.

Those cupcakes are adorable! So are the glasses – I remember when I was a kid we used to have sherbet mixed with Sprite at every school dance and I thought it was so good. Now you’ve got me craving it again!
