I always enjoy coming up with a kids’ themed table from decor I have on hand. Â And since it’s almost Christmas (are you ready?), a Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer tablescape came to mind.
The Rudolf theme could have gone wild and I admit that I had to reign myself in on this one. Â Sometimes less is more.
I used a black tablecloth and a plaid table runner. Â The runner came from Hobby Lobby and, of course, it was on sale. Â Who says a kid’s table can’t be a little classy?
When I plan a centerpiece for a kid’s table I always make sure it’s unbreakable. Â For this table I used an advent Christmas tree that I’ve had for over 30 years! Â I bought it from Avon when my kids were small. Â It has 24 drawers around the base that holds the ornaments. Â At one time it played music and the lights really worked. Â I also used my B E L I E V E blocks that I purchased from Stein Mart a couple of years ago at half off. Â I added a couple of deer and bam – done!
The little plates came from Pottery Barn Kids. Â I’m a plate hoarder and find it hard to say no when I fall in love with a dish.
I almost made the little milk bottles look like reindeer, but I thought that would be overkill so I resisted.
And who doesn’t love a little Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer golden book?
My favorite project when planning this tablescape has to be the toilet tissue roll napkin rings. You can find my toilet tissue roll snowmen here!
Here’s what you’ll need to make 2 napkin rings:
1 empty toilet tissue roll
Brown acrylic paint
Beige Chenille stems
2 large beige poms
2 small red poms
Googly Eyes
Cut the empty tissue roll in half. Â Paint brown and let dry. Â Use hot glue to add the eyes, poms and Chenille stems. Â I cut one stem in half and then cut some smaller pieces to make the antlers. Â I think they are too cute!
Do you decorate a kid’s table for Christmas? Â If so, what theme are you using this year?

I would love to be a guest at your house. This is so cute. I bet your grandchildren will love it.
Thanks, Leigh! I always have the best time coming up with a Christmas theme for the grands.
Such a fun theme, adults would enjoy your Rudolf table too! Avon always has unique and fun Christmas décor items, don’t they! We have a talking snowman in the refrigerator that came from Avon.
I haven’t seen an Avon book in years, but their Christmas decor has always been fun and not too expensive.
How beautiful! I love the idea of making the kid’s table just as beautiful as the “adult” table!
Thanks, Amy. The kids are special and I always like to show them some special love during the holidays.
I love this! Instead of tucking the kids table away in the back corner, bring it in to the rest of your decor! Again…love this!!!
Christmas is all about the kids at my house. Thanks, Dionne!
I just picked that book up this morning at walmart. My daughter has to do a book exchange for the holidays. I love that table and the way you did the straws with the milk fab and festive
Thanks, Kita! I always enjoy coming up with a themed tablescape for the grands.
Way too cute Alli! One year I will make and decorate a kids table. You give me so much inspiration.
It’s always so much fun, especially when I shop my own house and don’t have to buy anything. 🙂
My little niece would love this tablescape! So would I for that matter! 🙂
Thanks! It was so much fun planning and executing the theme.
This is adorable! I love all of the classic children’s Christmas stories. What an awesome theme, and those powdered sugar North Poles… love them. PINNED! 🙂

Thanks for pinning, Lorelai, and for your free blog planner!
I always look forward to all your tablescapes…..I do not do kids table (just because I have never thought of it). But you are an inspiration! I agree, that sometimes less is more and keep stuff from looking too cluttered. I love the table, Alli!
Your Rudolf kids table is adorable! Well all your kids themed tables are wonderful! I think S would enjoy this for an extra special breakfast between now and Christmas.
I always enjoy seeing what you do and this party is no exception! How fun and creative is a Rudolf party! I just did a Santa Claus is Coming to Town Party, but will take note of this one for the future! You’re tablescape is so festive and I love how you use Believe!
Oh my kids would love to find the table set with Rudolph. Totally cute! And, I love the milk jars!!
Wow Alli, these are really cute. I would have so done this when I was in the classroom, I know the students would have loved it. How did you get the donuts to stay?
PS. I love powdered donuts. I think you should do a post about those. 🙂
The doughnuts were heavy enough to keep the straw standing straight up.
How cute is this! Christmas is so fun with kids!
We do a kids table every year and I hate doing the same old same old. This is such an adorable idea. We were going to do a snowman theme this year but since it is the 50th anniversary of Rudolph I may have to change it up and take some ideas from you! So awesome as always!
To say I love Rudolph and this idea would be an understatement! And it comes on tomorrow night!
Psst… I’m a plate hoarder too! Love the plates and everything else you have gathered for this children’s table!
Pinning and sharing everywhere!

Super cute tablescape. I love the reindeer theme and would’ve done the antlers on the bottles…lol. I’m okay with overkill when it comes to holiday stuff 🙂

What an adorable theme for a kid’s table. I love the napkin rings!

Thanks, Sharon! I always enjoy a good party.
That is so smart to use a toilet paper roll to make cute little napkin rings. This whole tablescape is adorable! Thank you for sharing it with us at Hump Day Happenings.
