This is the last installment of our Shades of Pink Brunch. And it’s the fun, friendly & fabulous part!
As the ladies arrived for brunch last Saturday, they were greeted by the ever gregarious, Ms. Marilyn. She is a preschool teacher, so naturally she is bubbly, outgoing and just plain fun to be around. Marilyn makes everyone feel welcome so she is an obvious choice for heading up the fun and games. All I have to do is give them to her and she runs with it! (You should have been a fly on the wall when we had a dance contest at one of our events. I just didn’t know that we had so many girls that can really, really throw down. I sat out of that one. I was busy in the kitchen. Wink.)
Marilyn greeted everyone by placing a pink (of course) and white lei around each woman’s neck and giving them these instructions: “The person with the most leis at the end of this game is the winner. Leis are acquired by getting someone to say the word no.” Because our girls are so smart, we ended up extending the ice breaker game until we finished eating. The winner received a “Peace, Love & Juicy Couture” fragrance. The packaging is pink, of course, as was the wrappings. Note: When hosting an event, I always try to keep from having “pregnant pauses.” That’s the awkward time when everyone just stands around with nothing to do. It equals boring and boring is something I don’t do! 🙂
To end our time together, we divided the girls into teams of 6 and played our last game, “A Flower Quiz,” took a group pic, prayed together and left full of wonderful food, fellowship and fun! The team that won that game took home the six centerpieces.
Note: We had about eight guests that had never been to one of our Girlfriends Unlimited events. (We always have guests at these events, especially at Christmas.) They all kept telling me how much fun they had, and that, my friend, makes it all worth while!
Helpful Hint: Any of my events can be modified for an even larger group or scaled down for a small, intimate group. Also, leis can be purchased at the Dollar Tree – three for a dollar!
