20 Pretty and Unique DIY Planters You’ll Love

by Alli

When the weather gets cold and dreary, my thoughts turn to spring. Now is the time to plan my flower gardens, flip through seed magazines and make some Unique DIY Planters. A cold and rainy day is ideal for completing DIY projects or to daydream about DIY projects.

I’ll be completely honest here. Once Christmas is over, I’m pretty much done with winter. I’m a southern girl and I don’t like waking up to cold temps in the single digits. I’m counting down the days until spring and when the temps climb back up into the sixties at the end of the week, I’ll be in hog heaven.

I can’t help it! I’m a 100% warm weather girl and all of these beautiful planters have me dreaming of spring. If I close my eyes tightly enough and turn the heat up, I can almost convince myself that spring is almost here. So, with that in mind, I’m about to get busy on some DIY projects for spring.

How to Make 20 Unique DIY Planters

So, with thoughts of spring flowers dancing in my head, I thought I’d share my favorite Unique DIY Planters. It’s like a breath of fresh air on a cold, winter day.

I wish I had a greener thumb than I do. They all look terrific. I really like the ones that hang down like ice cream cones.

These are some gorgeous planters. I wish I could grow plants, but I tend to kill them. I’ll have to show my mom though. She’s excellent with plants!

Most of my plants that live are in water. Once I plant them in dirt, it’s a wrap and their demise is surely to come. I love these ideas though. I could certainly use them to creatively display my pothos and other water plants.

Some very pretty and unusual planters. I usually purchase smaller planters to give as gifts so many of these would work perfectly.

These would be fun to make. With spring time only a couple of months away this is the perfect time to create them and the time spring does get here everything will be ready to go.

These are all cute options that I’d love to do. Sad truth is I have a black thumb and can’t keep anything alive. 🙁

This is the prettiest round up I have ever seen! I love how bright the pictures are … I’m not a planter myself but now, I want to have some plants in my living space!

I’m not one for much of a green thumb but these are really inspiring me to plan something in my living room. You made a really beautiful round up, by the way!

There is something appealing about all of them for sure. I love to make things my own. In particular, I love sayings and spelling out words.

I think a pretty planter can add so much to the plant and setting. I saw someone talk about some marble look ones at Walmart I think I need to check.

These planters really look terrific. We need to get some for our balcony and will take a leaf or two from your ideas. Hope to see them blooming soon.
