Spending time along the seashore is my favorite place to be during the summer. The sound of the waves crashing on the shore always lures me to the beach. I have no problems getting my daily steps in when I’m spending time by the sea. I could walk on the sandy shores for hours. The warm breeze and that distinct smell of the ocean always keep me coming back for more.
Even the food is better at the beach! Sure, eating out at the beach is fun, but sometimes I like to set up a ย coastal tablescape for two. The balcony is the place to be and it’s just the right size for a romantic dinner.
Coastal Tablescape For Two
A while back, after eating breakfast at Cracker Barrel (beach location), I began to wander around the store (not a good thing) and I found the most adorable coastal plates. I had to have them because seahorses are a favorite of mine. They’re perfect for salad or dessert.
At one time, I had quite the collection of shells and sand dollars. I used them to decorate a Coastal Christmas party for 70. I knew I wanted sea glass and starfish for the centerpiece and found these at Amazon for a really good price.
Grab a vase, fish bowl, or lantern, and add a little sand, a candle, a few shells and a starfish or two and you’ve got a centerpiece that’s not too fussy and fits right in with the coastal tablescape for two.
A small sailboat adds another coastal vibe to my centerpiece.
The white table and chairs are just the right size for our balcony. I scored these at Amazon at an amazing price. The table folds up so they’re easy to put away when the weather is bad. They have a nautical look and the white is fresh and inviting. This table actually looks like wood but it’s heavy-duty plastic and it has a center hole for an umbrella. It’s hidden under the centerpiece!
If you’re hosting a dinner party or an intimate coastal tablescape for two, my tablescape is easy to re-create. You don’t need the ocean as a backdrop to complement your coastal tablescape, but it sure does help.
