When’s the last time you took a good long look at your guest bathroom?  I like to take a walk through my house every once in a while and take inventory of my decor.  One glance at my guest bathroom and I realized that I had to do some quick and easy bathroom updates. 

The guest bathroom is also my daughter’s bathroom until she gets married next May (sob, sob, gulp). This room also happens to be at the top of my gut-it-and-redo-it list.  I want to rip it out and take it all the way down to the studs and totally redo it.  I get lots of eye rolls from my husband whenever I mention the subject of gutting a room.  It’s totally going to happen one day, but for now, I have to work with what I’ve got.

Note: This bathroom did get torn to the studs and updated in 2018!

Quick & Easy Bathroom Updates

One of the first things I noticed was the faded, missing more than a few beads, shower curtain. Is there a reason why I haven’t replaced that relic?  Since my daughter keeps that room clean, I rarely venture in there.  I’ve been gone too long!

Since I do have a few decor pieces in my bathroom that I actually like, I decided to find a shower curtain to coordinate, rather than buying all new decor.

This shower curtain is priced just right.  Navy hand towels will help break up some of that blah blah beige and add a little touch of sophistication. A few pops of color can make an old space feel new.  Don’t you think every bathroom needs a little color?

Ok – the lighting still stinks, but Rome wasn’t built in a day.  You should have seen me trying to deflect, reflect and redirect that lighting.

Besides the new shower curtain and hand towels, I added a few succulents, baskets and pretty bottles to brighten things up.

Helpful Hint: Do hair clips constantly disappear from your bathroom?  I’ve found the best way to keep up with them AND keep the bathroom tidy.  I clip them to a basket that I put together to hold all my daughter’s hair tools.
