Are you excited about the holidays? I am!

Layer on Love

It’s a wonderful time for loved ones to get together, make precious memories and uphold age-old traditions.

It’s also the season for holiday parties, non-stop Christmas music, and goodwill toward all.

Layer on Love Holiday Party

Y’all know how much I love to entertain and my Layer on Love Party wins the award for my favorite party of the season. Why? It’s not just a get-together for family and friends. It’s geared towards giving back during the holiday season.

Layer on Love Party

Coca-Cola® is working with One Warm Coat® to provide a layer of love (coats) for half a million people!

I immediately jumped on board by planning my own Layer of Love Holiday Party. I asked all of my guests to visit the One Warm Coat site.

Donating is so easy to do and it only took a minute for me to provide 25 coats for those in need!

How to Host a Layer On Love Holiday Party

First of all, you need invitations. No worries – I’ve got you covered! You can download my free invites by clicking here: layer-on-love-invites

Next, plan your menu and head to Walmart to stock up on party and food items. Don’t forget the Coca-Cola®!

The Layer On Love Tablescape

A winter wonderland creates the perfect backdrop for the food table and a garland of mittens spells out the mission of the party.

Layer on Love Garland

I went ahead and made a mittens garland for you too. All you have to do is print the garland on card stock and get your significant other to cut out the mittens for you. That’s what I did. Thanks, hubby!

You can download the garland here: layer-on-love-garland

A red scarf is the perfect table runner. Layer it over a pretty tablecloth or use it alone.

The Centerpiece

To keep the winter wonderland theme going, add a layer of faux snow (Epsom salt) to vases and create a winter scene by adding mini Christmas trees, snowmen, etc.

Epsom Salt makes the best fake snow!!

The Food & Drink

Since my special guests include my daughters and my new daughter-in-law, the food and drink have to be something they all love. Man, did I deliver!

Mini Chicken and Waffles are the main attraction and a big hit at my party. Slice boneless chicken wings and top the warm and crispy waffles with the chicken. Serve with syrup.

Macarons are a family fave and these little bites of deliciousness earned a spot on my party table.

Cheese Tortellini with Pizza Dipping Sauce is also a party fave.

Everyone loves a fruit and cheese tray, so it’s always on my party table.

You’ll notice that most of the food is in mini portions, including these mini cakes.

Our favorite Coca-Cola beverage completes the food table.

The Fun

Every party needs an element of surprise. I supplied rhinestones and a bottle of jewelry glue to add a little glam to plain knit gloves.

Adding a little glam to knit gloves - A Layer of Love Holiday Party

The girls had a blast embellishing gloves to gift to their friends to inform them that Coca-Cola® is working with One Warm Coat® on their mission to provide anyone in need with a warm coat.

Glitz and Glam - Layer of Love

These gloves needed a little glam and my girls delivered!

The girls are still talking about how much fun they had adding a little glitz and glam to the gloves.

The fun doesn’t stop there. I have the cutest idea to package the gloves. I packed the gloves in a cellophane bag (treat-size bags) and created toppers for the bags. You can download the free toppers by clicking here: warm-hands-topper

Here’s a sneak peek at the front of the topper.

Layer On Love Package Toppers

Helpful Hint: Print the toppers on card stock, cut them out, and fold them in the middle.

Use glue or a staple gun to attach the toppers to the cellophane bags.

Aren’t they adorable?

By coming together and inspiring your friends to donate to One Warm Coat®, we can collectively help to put a coat on one million people in need this winter.

This is such a beautiful party in every way. I love the cause and bringing attention to it by asking guests to contribute. All of your decor is beautiful and I love the mini food items. Those macarons are calling my name!

Your Layer on the Love party looks amazing – both for your guests (delicious food and fun activities) and for those who will benefit from the funds raised (25 coats provided through your party alone – that is impressive, and shows just how successful this campaign will be in providing for those in need).

Your glove embellishment station is such a fun idea, and further spreads the message of the Layer on the Love campaign – you’re so creative with your party planning, and incorporating the theme throughout the party.

I am a big crocheter and Knitter, so this would be a great idea to give to do, to collect knitted hats scarfs and etc. I love that it makes the collecting of items fun.
