How to Clean, Polish and Seal Granite Countertops is sponsored content for Rock Doctor. All opinions are my own.
Four years ago (or was it five?) I had my old, ugly laminate countertops ripped out and replaced with granite. I had dreamed of having granite in my kitchen for so long. It was love at first sight.
I had every intention of sealing my granite countertops once a year, just like the granite installer guy told me to do. A few weeks ago I realized that I had not sealed them at all. Never. Nada. Oops.
Thankfully, Rock Doctor came to my rescue! I now have properly sealed granite countertops. If I had known how easy it was, I would have sealed my countertops a long time ago.
Once you use Rock Doctor products to keep your granite looking amazing, you will never ask how to polish, clean or care for your granite, marble, and other stone surfaces ever again. I promise!
How to Clean Granite
Always use clean towels or rags when cleaning stone surfaces. Soda, juices, ketchup and mustard can damage stone surfaces. Clean up spills immediately to help prevent staining.
Rock Doctor Granite Cleaner is my BFF when it comes to keeping my granite clean. It’s specifically designed to safely clean stone countertops, vanities and table tops. I like that fact that it’s a non-abrasive formula and contains no harsh chemicals. It doesn’t streak or leave residue on my stone surfaces.
How to Polish Granite
Rock Doctor Granite Polish is fast-drying and non-abrasive. It’s non-acidic and is specially formulated to work on both old and new stone surfaces.
After cleaning with the Granite Cleaner, I spray a thin coating of the polish on my stone countertop. Using an absorbent cloth, I wipe the polish onto the stone in a circular motion. Once it dries to a dull sheen, I buff it with a clean, soft cloth.
Special emollient and carnauba wax fills the tiny cracks and imperfections and restores my stone countertop to its original shine. Yippee!
How to Seal Granite
I don’t know why it took me so long to seal my granite. If I had known how easy it is to seal granite using Rock Doctor Granite Sealer, I would have done it a lot sooner.
First, I move everything off the countertop – my heavy stand mixer, spices; stuff I like to keep close at hand.
I then make sure my surface is clean and dry. After shaking the can, I spray the surface. Three minutes later, I wipe the surface dry.
Now I have 30 minutes to kill so I relax on the sofa, eat bonbons and read a good book. Joke! I get back to work on my laptop (the perils of working from home).
That’s it! I add all my stuff back and I’m done. Look at that shine!
Guess what? Rock Doctor Granite Sealer is also excellent for use on grout. Guess what I will be doing tomorrow? You guessed it! My backsplash was installed a few days after the granite was installed. I forgot to seal the grout. Oops again.
My granite is now cleaned, polished and sealed. I can tell such a difference and the shine is amazing.
My bathrooms have granite vanities and I also use Rock Doctor to keep them looking fresh and clean. I’m now ready for the holidays. Bring it!
