I have to admit that most of my family would not fit into the morning person category. They don’t really like to carry on a conversation first thing on a weekday morning. They’re too busy rushing around and trying to get out the door.
Except for me. I’m such a morning person and since I work from home, I’ve usually been working for hours before the rest of the bunch rolls out of bed and sometimes I can be so absorbed in my job that I grunt a hello as my daughter walks by. That’s not good.
So I came up with 3 Tips for a Smooth Morning Routine that helps us connect as a family before everyone’s off in different directions.
1. Get a Good Night’s Sleep
That’s a no-brainer, except for night owls. They just don’t know when to call it quits. When you’re well rested, it’s easier to get up on time in the morning.
Go to bed with happy thoughts. Worry will keep you up and causes wrinkles. The fear of wrinkles keeps me from worrying. 🙂
2. Prep Before Bed
You’ll save valuable time if you lay out your work/school clothing the night before. Pack the diaper bag, the gym bag, the lunch bags and anything else that can be done ahead of time. Trying to find that elusive shoe for a kindergartener does not add a pleasant experience to the morning routine.
3. Pile on the protein
Your mom was right, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Studies show that breakfast provides you with the energy and nutrients that lead to increased concentration in the classroom and at work. But, who has time to cook, right?
That’s where Jimmy Dean comes in and makes it possible for me to serve a good, substantial weekend breakfast on weekday time. It looks and tastes like I was in the kitchen for hours, when in reality, the microwave does all the work.
I found Jimmy Dean Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuits and Biscuit & Sausage Gravy Breakfast Bowls in the frozen breakfast foods aisle at my local Publix. I was pleasantly surprised at the huge variety of breakfast bowls and sandwiches. I’ll definitely be going back to Publix for more choices to add to my weekly breakfast menu so I can mix things up a bit.
Jimmy Dean helps me streamline my morning routine, connect with my family and gets everyone fed and out the door on time. I especially like that the biscuits are individually wrapped. After removing the packaging, wrap in a paper towel and microwave according to the package directions. It literally takes less than three minutes. Another plus is that clean-up is a breeze.
The Bacon, Egg & Cheese is my daughter’s favorite.
