Are you ready for football season? For me, fall is all about football and homegating parties. These parties are my favorite because they are so casual and relaxed. I don’t even have to get dressed up. Jeans and favorite football jerseys are the way to go and my Bacon Sausage Kabobs are always a huge hit.
A few days before my homegating party, I make a list of everything I need to get my house party perfect. I don’t want to spend time in the kitchen while the game is on so I make a run to my local Dollar General for my favorite Georgia-Pacific®, Glad® and Kingsford® products.
I’ll be cooking my easy Bacon Sausage Kabobs on the grill, so I make sure to stock up on my favorite Kingsford® Charcoal while I’m in Dollar General.
When it comes to getting your house ready for your homegating party, you don’t have to spend hours cleaning. My cleanup tips will get your house party-ready in no time at all.
Favorite Pre-Party Cleanup Tips
Entryway
Will your guests be arriving through the front door? If so, make sure their first impression is a good one. Sweep the porch and entryway. Clean the glass in your front door to get rid of fingerprints and smudges. A little window cleaner and Sparkle® Paper Towels are all you need. Done!
Get Rid of Clutter
My husband thinks I have way too many throw pillows on the sofas. Since this is where everyone will be gathering while watching the big game, I banish most of the pillows to my bedroom. Get rid of clutter in the kitchen and bathrooms too.
Freshen up the Bathrooms
Make sure the bathroom your guests will be using is clean and smells fresh. Be sure and stock up on Angel Soft® with Fresh Lavender Scent 12 Big Roll. It smells so good! You can never have too much bath tissue!
Dump the Trash
Don’t forget to dump the trash and add a new trash can liner. I use Glad® Trash Bags because they grip the can and have 2x more stretchable strength.

Good food is a must at a homegating party. You’re going to love my Bacon Sausage Kabobs. They are so easy to cook on the grill. Plus they’re easy to eat while watching the big game because you don’t need a fork or spoon!

Kabobs always go over BIG in my house. My kids LOVE eating off sticks lol. I need to try these ones because they sound awesome.
Anything with bacon would be a hit around my house. These kabobs are perfect. The clean up tips are great and few I didn’t know.
Wow, these bacon sausage kabobs are definitely calling my name. I love that you used Kingsford Charcoal for this, because that is our go-to charcoal for all our grilling adventures. I can’t wait to try your recipe.
Oh my goodness these sound absolutely delicious and right up my street as there is something perfect about having bacon with sausages.
I love to grill food. Any excuse I have I will grill. These kebabs look amazing and I definitely will be making them at our next game day party.
Those Kabobs look so good! We like to make Kabobs a lot, we have one daughter that is vegetarian and we can easily throw on veggies or fruits for her own Kabob and we are not having to make a separate meal. As for cleaning, I always tell myself I will not clean up, because once people leave my house is always a mess. But, every single time before people come over I am running around cleaning everything!
These kabobs look amazing. I love our tips. They would help ease stress when entertaining so everyone, including the hostess can have a wonderful time.
The kabobs look really tasty. I like your tips, especially for moving the throw pillows to the bedroom.
I love the making and eating the sausage kebobs part not so much the cleaning lol, I love to cook and someone else to clean.
I can’t take my eyes off of the kebabs!!! Two of my favorite things together? Yum!!!
These sound really good. We haven’t made kabobs in a few months and it would be fun to try these for a tailgating meal.
Yum! I’m really not ready for football season. I am still basking in the Indians wins lol. I’m hoping for a World Series win this year…THEN I’ll be ready for football. The Browns are never good anyway, but I do love watching the Buckeyes!
When you are having guests home and are cooking. Ensuring the house is spick and span is so important. Speaking about kabobs, absolutely love the veg variants.
Those kabobs look so delicious. We are a meat loving family and these kabobs would be a winner during game days or any day! Thanks for the tips on how to make your home clean and inviting to guests.
Wow! My husband would love these so much. I think I am going to have to make these for our next football watching party!
Your kebabs sound AMAZING! My girls LOVE it when I put food on a stick lol! And I totally agree about clutter – decluttering makes EVERYTHING better!
My kids would love this recipe. I’m trying to find new things to cook in my kitchen.
This makes my tummy growl, looks very tasty. I would love to try making this for m,y\\y kids.
Well, first off I love the idea of “homegating”. More more comfy than the alternative LOL And my hubby has been making a case for a new grill – maybe if I get him one he’ll make us this!
Those sausage kabobs look AMAZING! What a great fixin’ for football. 🙂
