A Special Invitation to My Fall Home Tour

by Alli

Are you enjoying the autumn season? Today’s high is 85ΒΊ in my neck of the woods. So, no, I’m not really feeling fall yet here in South Carolina. But I have been decorating my home for fall and this is a special invitation to my fall home tour on Monday, October 3rd.

Special Invitation to my Home Tour

Fall is the one season where I can keep my seasonal decor up for three months. I mean, think about it, Christmas decor is usually up for one month (unless you’re that person who lives three doors down and leaves their Christmas lights on the front porch all year long).

Halloween, Easter and everything else is usually celebrated for about a month. Fall is the exception to the rule because pumpkins are just as trendy in September as they are in November. So, there.

Funny Text From My Daughter

While I was browsing the aisles of At Home, I received a text from daughter #2.

It read, “Where are you?” I hurriedly replied (without my reading glasses), “At home.” I immediately received another text from her saying, “No you’re not! I just called your home phone.” Duh – I meant to tell her I was shopping at the home decor superstore aka At Home.

Have you ever been to At Home? It’s like a giant warehouse filled with everything you could possibly want and/or need for your home.

My fall home tour will feature my great room and dining room. Actually, the great room, dining room, and kitchen are all one big open space. I don’t have a formal living room and I like that just fine because we’re not formal people.

My inspiration piece for my fall home tour is this glass pumpkin I found At Home (the superstore, not my house). πŸ™‚

It has all my favorite decor colors so I had to have it. Navy, Orange and Mustard – three of my very favorite colors and the colors of my great room – are my inspiration colors for my fall home tour. If you look closely, you can see the reflection of my tripod.

The beautiful tray is also from At Home. I’m in love!

I don’t get really complicated when it comes to decor and I try not to go overboard. I even reused some old dollar store pumpkins by spray painting them white. Once they dried, I dipped the bottoms of the pumpkins in navy and I LOVE the end results.

I have never been to At Home but it sounds like a store that my wife and oldest daughter would spend hours at! I have to look to see if there are any of these stores in Michigan!

I don’t have an At Home by me, but, sounds great. I love that pumpkin! Breaks up the normal orange theme :). I’m not in SC, but, hope you post pictures of your home tour with your new decor out!

I love fall decorations! I’m slowly getting a bigger collection of fall things. I really overdo it at Christmas. For fall, I pretty much leave it up from the start of fall till Christmas even if it says Happy Halloween lol. It’s still cute! Can’t wait to see your Monday post.

Fall is my favorite time of the year. I love that pumpkin you got. The colors on it are truly gorgeous. Can’t wait to see the rest of your home.

I love decorating for any occasion. You can take a bland room and make it so beautiful with simple items. Very nice!

That store is one of my mom’s favorite places to shop! She does not have a one upper she lives so when she comes here she explores all over the place in there. They have a lot of neat stuff and we have bought many things from there.

I really need to pull out my Fall decorations. But I have been too busy working and playing with the kittens. Thanks for the push!

That glass pumpkin you used as your inspiration is so you! I love the color scheme and I know it is going to be awesome!! I too have been painting and repainting pumpkins to get the right tones. I had to smile at your comment about that neighbor who keeps the Christmas lights up way past time. Oh, we had one of those in our previous area. Gold Christmas tree lights, morning noon and night Spring and summer!!!

I’m looking forward to the At Home Fall tours. I’ve been to two of their stores and the one in Kennesaw, Ga. is huge with tons of great home decor! Can’t wait to see everyone’s fall decor!

I love that glass pumpkin! It is unique and would definitely be a conversation piece. I have to check if we have an At Home store close to where I live. I am sure there will be something there that I would love to have in my home.
