Italian Sausage Flatbread Pizza is an easy meal to make for weeknights or when entertaining during the weekend. This semi-homemade pizza begins with pre-made flatbread and Carando® Fresh Italian Sausage Links.

I add pesto, fresh veggies, and feta cheese. The flavors blend to create a delicious pizza in under 15 minutes.

Pizza night is a regular thing at my house. Whether we’re enjoying a game night with the family or entertaining friends, this pizza is always a favorite.

Carando Mild Toscano Italian Sausage Links are perfect for this recipe. The robust flavors give me a head start on creating authentic Italian-style meals in less time than cooking everything from scratch.

Of course, if you can’t find Carando Italian Sausage, use your favorite brand.

Fresh Italian Sausage

Carando products are fresh, not frozen, and the sausage links are made with classic Italian ingredients. Even when I make quick and easy meals, I never skimp on fresh, high-quality products. Let’s make a pizza!

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Italian Sausage Links, sliced
  • 1 prepared flatbread pizza crust (about 6.25 oz.)
  • basil pesto
  • feta cheese, crumbled
  • Kalamata olives, pitted and sliced
  • chopped red pepper (seeds removed)

How To Make Italian Sausage Flatbread Pizza

I know you’re going to love my delicious twist on a traditional pizza. I’m using pesto instead of tomato sauce and feta cheese in place of mozzarella cheese. I love that this easy pizza recipe calls for only six ingredients.

Ingredients for Italian Sausage Pizza

Slice the sausage links. I get 4 slices from each link.

Spray a large skillet with nonstick cooking spray and heat over medium-high. Cook until browned, turning frequently to make sure they are browned on all sides. Set aside.

Sausage Slices Cooking

Place flatbread pizza crust on a baking sheet. Bake for two minutes at 375º F.

Remove from the oven. Spread pesto on the flatbread crust. I use pre-made basil pesto (the kind in a jar) for this recipe. I have a homemade basil pesto that would work well also.

Feta Cheese on Flatbread Pizza

Return to the oven and cook for 5 minutes or until feta cheese softens. I always double the recipe when I invite the entire family over for pizza night!

What To Serve with Italian Sausage Flatbread Pizza

When I’m making this pizza for the family, we have pizza and fresh fruit for dessert. When I’m entertaining friends, I add a simple arugula salad, and dinner is served.

Where To Find Carando Mild Toscano Italian Sausage Links

Carando is my go-to for fresh Italian meals. These products help me set the foundation for a delicious meal, like my Italian Sausage Pizza.

Carando products are always fresh, never frozen. You can find Carando Mild Toscana Italian Sausage Links in the fresh meat cases of local grocery stores along with other Carando® Fresh Italian-Style Meatballs and Carando® Ground Fresh Italian SausageI shop for mine at Publix.

Flatbread Pizza Crust

The prepared flatbread pizza crust I use is from a 12.5 oz. package with two square pizza crusts inside. The entire package makes eight servings.

I cook both when I’m serving eight. When it’s just my husband and me eating dinner, I make one (serves 4) and that’s the recipe I’m sharing today. I always hope for leftovers because it’s deliciously warmed up the next day.

Pizza Substitutions

If you don’t like feta cheese (one of my children doesn’t care for it) you can replace it with mozzarella, provolone, cheddar, and/or Parmesan. Kalamata olives can be replaced with ripe olives.
