Matcha has been all the rage for quite a few years. It’s a high-grade green tea ground into powdered form. Matcha has been enjoyed for 100’s of years in China and Japan and is stronger than regular green tea, so a little goes a long way. Matcha Coconut Latte is my favorite way to add matcha to my diet.
These days, you’ll find Matcha in products ranging from ice cream to Starbucks Matcha Green Tea Latte. It’s everywhere!
Matcha also boasts many health benefits, including:
- Lowering Blood Pressure
- Lowering Cholesterol
- May Help Protect Cells Against Cancer
- Better Dental Health
- Full of Antioxidants
- Helps Fight Inflammation
- Lowering Heart Disease
There’s plenty of reasons to jump on the matcha bandwagon. You can add matcha to your diet in many different ways. You can even sprinkle matcha over your oatmeal.
How about a matcha smoothie or a coconut matcha popsicle? Just remember that a little goes a long way and matcha does contain more caffeine than green tea. You can find even more matcha recipes here.
Where to Buy Matcha Powder
You can buy Matcha at your local grocery store. I order mine from Amazon and buy this organic brand.
Matcha Coconut Latte
Matcha Coconut Latte is easy to make. You only need four ingredients:
- Matcha Powder
- 1 cup coconut milk, warmed
- Hot water
- Sweetener of your choice
When I make a matcha coconut latte, I use a small kitchen whisk to mix the ingredients together in a mug.
First, sift the matcha powder into a bowl. This removes any lumps.
Add water and whisk until smooth.
Heat coconut milk until hot but not boiling. Pour the milk into a mug. Add the matcha powder and whisk until well combined.
Add sweetener of choice. I sometimes add two teaspoons of honey. Other times I use a no-calorie sweetener.
