Equipment Needed

To make a delicious Pumpkin Spice Apple Loaf, you will need some basic kitchen equipment. Here are the essential tools you will need to prepare this recipe:

  • 9×5-inch loaf pan
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Rubber spatula
  • Chef’s knife
  • Cutting board
  • Apple peeler/corer/slicer (optional)
  • Paddle or Box Grater (to grate the apples)

Steps For Making the Best Pumpkin Spice Apple Loaf

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a loaf pan with parchment paper. In a mixing bowl, add the sugar and pumpkin spice seasoning. Whisk together until combined.

Add the melted butter and vanilla and whisk until a crumbly paste has formed. Add the dry ingredients – salt, baking powder, and flour and whisk again until combined.

Pour in the milk and mix with the whisk until you have a thick batter. Add the grated apples. Fold this together until thoroughly combined and set aside.

In another mixing bowl add the flour and brown sugar. Use a fork to blend the two ingredients together.

Add the softened butter and cinnamon to the bowl and use the fork to blend together again until a crumbly topping is formed.

Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan. Sprinkle with half of the crumble topping. Then pour the rest of the batter. Top with the rest of the crumble topping.

Bake in a preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

While the loaf is baking, make the glaze.

In a bowl, add the powdered sugar, pumpkin spice, vanilla, and milk all at once. Whisk together until smooth. If the glaze is a bit too thick add another teaspoon or so of milk until a desired consistency is reached.

Let the loaf cake cool for 20 minutes before removing from the pan. Drizzle the glaze all over the top of the loaf.

How To Store Pumpkin Spice Apple Loaf

Once the Pumpkin Spice Apple Loaf has cooled completely, it’s important to store it properly to maintain its freshness and flavor. Here are some tips on how to store and reheat your loaf:

  • Store the loaf in an airtight container or wrap it tightly in plastic wrap. This will help prevent it from drying out and keep it fresh for longer.
  • Keep the loaf at room temperature for up to 2 days. If you want to store it for longer, you can refrigerate it for up to a week or freeze it for up to 3 months. If you’re planning on freezing the loaf, wait and make the glaze right before serving.
  • To reheat the loaf, preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Remove the loaf from the container or plastic wrap and place it on a baking sheet. Cover the loaf with aluminum foil and bake for 10-15 minutes or until heated through. You can also microwave individual slices for 10-15 seconds.

It’s important to note that reheating the loaf may cause it to dry out slightly, so it’s best to enjoy it fresh if possible.
