Have you seen the Viral TikTok Air Fryer Banana Donut Holes? You’ll only need two ingredients to make the donut holes. Once they are done, you can coat them in cinnamon and sugar or a banana glaze. This is a very quick and easy snack thatโs delicious!
I’ve included the optional topping recipes in the printable recipe card.
Simple Ingredients Needed To Make Banana Donut Holes
- Pancake Mix
- Large Ripe Banana – Ripe bananas work best for banana donut holes. Bananas that are yellow with brown spots are softer and mash easily, making them easier to mix and shape. These bananas have a stronger flavor and natural sweetness.
Optional Toppings:
- White Granulated Sugar
- Ground Cinnamon
- Powdered Sugar
- 1 Small Ripe Banana
Items Needed:
- 2-Quart or Larger Air Fryer
- Nonstick Cooking Spray
- Rubber Gloves (optional)
Step-By-Step Directions (Full Printable Recipe Card Down Below!)
Peel and mask the banana.
Stir in the pancake mix.
Knead the ingredients together. Mix with your hands until the dough comes together completely. It will be a little sticky, and this is perfectly fine.
Roll the dough into 1-tablespoon-sized balls, ensuring your hands or gloves are well-greased.
Spray the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray and place as many of the dough balls as possible in the basket, spacing them about 1 inch apart, as they will expand during cooking. I usually fit about six at a time in my 2-quart air fryer.
Air-fry for 7 minutes at 350ยฐF. Carefully remove from the basket and repeat until all the dough has been used.
Coat the donut holes with a topping or eat immediately. (Topping recipes included in the recipe card down below.)
Helpful Tips
- These donut holes are best when eaten immediately. If you would like to store them, do not coat them in the banana glaze as it will make them gooey. To store, place in an airtight container in the pantry for up to 4 days.
- These donut holes will be a little harder on the outside, and thatโs normal! If you want a bit more flavor or sweetness, you can add a bit of vanilla and sugar to your mixture before making the dough.
- If you make the dough balls bigger or smaller, the cooking time will adjust accordingly, so keep that in mind. Adjust the time as needed to adjust the duration.
- If the donut holes come out dense, it means too much pancake mix was used. In your future attempts, try adding a bit more banana or less pancake mix to fix the issue.
