How To Make Simple Syrup for Snowdrop Mocktails
Simple syrup is really easy to make. If you can boil water, you can do it. It’s just sugar dissolved in water.
Simple syrup is often a key ingredient in mocktails and other drinks because it blends well with other liquids.
To make a simple syrup, you only need two ingredients – granulated sugar and water. Traditional simple syrup requires a 1:1 ratio of sugar to water.
The good news is that simple syrup will keep in the fridge for up to a month. For this recipe, I use 1/2 cup water (measured with a liquid measuring cup) and 1/2 cup sugar (measured with a dry measuring cup).
Add the sugar and water to a small saucepan. Heat over medium and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Once the sugar is dissolved, let the syrup cool. Strain into a jar and seal with a lid.
Wasn’t that easy?
How To Make Snowdrop Mocktails
Snowdrop Mocktails are really easy to put together. While the simple syrup is cooling, I scoop two cups of vanilla ice cream into a pitcher to soften.
This pitcher belonged to my mom and I smile every single time I use it.
Add four teaspoons simple syrup with 2 cups (regular or diet) chilled lemonade, ice cream and 1/4 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice to the pitcher. Stir well.
How To Rim A Glass With Lemon Zest/Sugar Mixture
Place 1/4 cup sugar in a bowl. Zest one lemon and stir the zest into the sugar. Run a lemon wedge around each mocktail glass. Dip the rim of the glass straight down into the sugar/zest mixture.
