No Bake Millionaire Pie: AKA Million Dollar Pie

by Alli

Indulge in the tropical flavors of Millionaire Pie. This delicious, creamy, no-bake dessert bursts with juicy pineapple, crunchy pecans, and a hint of coconut. Perfect for any occasion, it is as simple to make and so much fun to eat.

The pie gets its name from its luxurious texture and taste. It’s simple to make with everyday ingredients like cream cheese, pineapple, and nuts.

This was one of my favorite desserts as a little girl. My aunt would make a couple for family reunions and church potlucks. It’s still a favorite today!

Key Ingredients

Ingredients needed to make million dollar pie including cream cheese, pineapple and coconut

Crushed Pineapple

Crushed pineapple adds a tangy sweetness to the pie filling. The fruit’s natural acidity balances the richness of other ingredients.

Drain the pineapple before use to prevent excess liquid from being in the filling. The small chunks provide texture and bursts of tropical taste in every bite. For best results, use pineapple canned in their juice rather than syrup.

Heavy Whipping Cream

Whipping cream helps give Millionaire Pie its light and airy texture. It’s added to the base of the filling, creating a fluffy consistency.

Cream Cheese

Cream cheese adds richness and helps thicken the pie filling. It creates a smooth, creamy texture that complements the light whipped topping. Use softened cream cheese to mix and avoid lumps in the filling.

The tanginess of cream cheese balances the sweetness of other ingredients. It also provides a stable base for the filling, helping it set appropriately in the refrigerator. Full-fat cream cheese works best for optimal flavor and texture.

Chopped Nuts

Chopped pecans add a crunchy contrast to the smooth filling. Walnuts or almonds are also suitable.

The nuts add a pleasant texture and nutty taste to each slice.

Sweetened Condensed Milk

Sweetened condensed milk is a crucial sweetener in Millionaire Pie. It adds richness and helps bind the ingredients together. This thick, syrupy milk creates a smooth texture and caramel-like sweetness.

Use the total amount called for in the recipe to ensure proper consistency. Sweetened condensed milk cannot be substituted with regular milk or other liquid sweeteners. It plays a crucial role in helping the pie set without baking.

Graham Cracker Crust

For this no-bake dessert, I use a pre-made graham cracker crust. You can make your own or use a shortbread crust for a different flavor.

Sweetened Shredded Coconut

Unsweetened shredded coconut will work as a less-sweetened alternative.

Lemon Juice

You can use fresh or from-concentrated lemon juice.

Vanilla Extract

Almond extract can be used for a different flavor.

You’ll also need powdered sugar.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I store my Millionaire Pie?

Store your Millionaire Pie covered in the refrigerator to keep it fresh. It will stay delicious for up to 4-5 days, but for the best texture and taste, enjoy it within the first couple of days.

Can I customize Millionaire Pie with additional ingredients?

Absolutely! You can easily customize Millionaire Pie by adding crushed cookies, chocolate chips, or a swirl of fruit preserves. Just be mindful not to add too much extra filling, as it could affect the pie’s ability to set.

What should I do if my homemade whipping cream isnโ€™t reaching stiff peaks?

If your whipping cream isn’t reaching stiff peaks, ensure the cream and the mixing bowl are very cold before you start. You can even chill your beaters in the freezer for a few minutes. If itโ€™s still not thickening, continue whipping at a higher speed, but be careful not to overwhip, as this can turn the cream into butter.
