Helpful Tips

  • If you prefer the cookies crunchy when serving, you canโ€™t make them ahead of time. They will need to be eaten immediately. However, homemade banana pudding usually has soft cookies in it, so if you let these sit for about an hour in the fridge after they are assembled, they will produce soft cookies in the bottom and be even closer to the real thing. I do not suggest storing them for longer than an hour or so for the soft cookies.
  • You can skip the pudding cups and use a box of banana cream instant pudding instead. Either is fine.
  • You can add more bananas or whipped cream or adjust the amounts to suit your preferences. We all have that perfect ratio regarding how we like our banana pudding.
  • If youโ€™re using the 12-pack of mini Nilla Wafers, it will take six pudding cups, six bananas, and a 16-ounce container of whipped topping to use all the bags included in the pack.
