Today I’m sharing my favorite cake recipes and the best cake stands. If you bake a delicious cake, you need a beautiful cake stand to show it off.
I have to admit that I love cake stands and I have collected quite a few over the years.
Some cake plates have been passed down by my mom. Others have just called my name as I was browsing online or passing by in a store.
Since today’s post is all about cake stands, I thought I’d share all of my favorite cakes in one place. All you have to do is click on the photo to get the recipe.

Tips For Baking The Best Cakes
I’ve been baking for decades and I have a few tips and tricks when it comes to baking a delicious cake.
- Preheat the Oven (unless you’re baking a pound cake that calls for starting off with a cold oven).
- Prepare your cake pans! I use Baker’s Joy to grease cake pans because it has the flour already incorporated. If a recipe calls for lining the pan with parchment, always follow the directions!
- Make sure the ingredients are at the right temperature. Cold ingredients don’t incorporate as well as room temperature ingredients.
- Use the correct size pan. If you use a different size, make sure you adjust the baking time.
- Be exact with measurements. Remember, baking is a science, and cooking is an art!
- Don’t overcook or undercook a cake. When in doubt, I always use the toothpick test. Insert a toothpick near the center of the cake. If it comes out clean, the cake is done. If it has cake batter on the pick, bake for a few more minutes.
- Always follow directions and cool cakes on a wire rack, according to the recipe instructions.

Banana Crunch Cake has the best flavor! Lemonade Poke Cake is moist and full of lemon flavor! Carolina Skillet Cake has a delicious crumble topping and is drizzled with a powdered sugar glaze. This is my favorite coffee cake. This festive white cake is tender, delicious, and easy to make. Top with raspberry sauce. Seven-Up Cake is moist, delicious and begins with a lemon cake mix. The crushed pineapple, coconut, and chopped pecans take the icing to the next level. This cake is a long-time favorite! Strawberry Lemonade Cake is tender, delicious, and filled with a strawberry-lemon jam and topped with a cream cheese strawberry frosting. Chocolate Pound Cake is tender and delicious, with just the right amount of chocolate! This is my family's favorite chocolate cake. Be prepared to give out the recipe to all of your family and friends. This coconut cake is so pretty and delicious. It's perfect for the holidays or special occasions. Italian Cream Cake is a classic cake that I've been baking for years. The pecans and coconut add so much flavor to this cake. It's my husband's favorite! Cranberry Apple Coffee Cake has a nice crunchy topping and is tender on the inside. I love that this coffee cake is not overly sweet. Apple Bundt Cake is full of apples and topped with a delicious praline frosting. German Chocolate Sheet Cake is moist with a delicious topping! A delicious cheesecake is topped with a pecan praline topping and chilled before serving. Cream Cheese Pound Cake has a crunchy top and is nice and tender on the inside. This is a perfect dessert for any occasion. A creamy coconut filling is spread between the layers of a dark chocolate cake. A delicious chocolate frosting is spread on the top and sides of cake. Dad's Sour Cream Pound Cake is a family favorite. It's moist and delicious on the inside and has a slight crunch on the outside. Sometimes I add a lemon glaze but it's completely optional.
